    Catholic Sacraments
One key distinction of the Roman Catholic Church (and Eastern Orthodox Churches) is its teaching on the mandatory intake of its seven sacraments. What is their origin? Are sacraments truly the only manifestation of God’s grace to believers, according to Roman Catholic doctrine? Or are they simply a way to enslave people to the tyranny of Rome? What did Christ and the apostles actually teach on this issue?

The False Promise of Forgiveness through Catholic Priests

Sins are forgiven as people believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins.”1  In believing on the finished work of the Lord Christ Jesus, a soul has both one hundred percent right standing with God credited Read More

    Baptism in the New Testament

The glorious history of the Reformation has been entangled in the whole question of the efficacy of the waters of baptism.  It appears that impressive Gospel message of salvation by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, and in Christ alone has been ensnared by a Reformed tradition.  In the Reformed and Presbyterian world, a huge conflict has Read More

Disturbing Encounters in the Catholic Confession Box

In my first year of ministry as a priest in Park Street Catholic Church, Port of Spain, Trinidad, I remember in vivid detail what a difficult time I had with the Saturday confessions.  Each Saturday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., many Catholics queued up outside the confession box waiting their turn to enter to tell us Read More

Biblical Communion: True Fellowship with the Lord

Once a person stands before the All Holy God accepted in Christ the Beloved,[1] clothed with the righteousness of Christ, that person has the basis of fellowship with God.  In sanctification as He writes His law on the hearts of the believers, they strive to be holy as He is.  He is then their God and they are Read More

Marriage is God’s Institution, Not Papal Rome’s

The old adage that states, “the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world” could more aptly be declared as “the hand that controls marriage rules the world.”  Before we can critique the Catholic Church’s legal control of marriage, we must first examine the biblical source of marriage and establish that it is of divine origin.  As Read More

    Salvation and the Sacraments

Quite a number of people have become Roman Catholics because of the appeal of the Catholic Sacraments. The most important difference between Biblical faith and Roman Catholicism is Read More

    The Vatican’s Meddling in Marriages

Marriage is a creation ordinance, belonging to all mankind. The Blasphemous Roman Catholic Mass

We are joined on the show today (via Skype) by former Roman Catholic Priest Richard Bennett of Berean Beacon. Richard served as a Catholic Priest for 22 years and spent 48 years in the Roman Catholic Church. Richard today shares with us his many years of research on the topic from the Roman Catholic Church’s own official documents. What does the Bible say about the mass? Does it honour or dishonour God? What is the truth about the presence of Christ in the sacrament? How can a man have communion with God?

Do Catholic Priests Have Special Powers?

Richard Bennett, former Catholic priest for 22 years, reveals in depth the false claims of Rome for its priests. Instead, he points the viewer to the true Source of forgiveness in Jesus Christ alone. Richard also demonstrates that priests are souls in need of salvation themselves from the One true High Priest.

Confession to a Priest Is Not Necessary for God’s Forgiveness

A person who is Catholic is taught to look for forgiveness by confessing his or her sins to a priest. Papal Rome’s insistence that her people confess is seen in her official teaching in the Catholic Catechism, paragraph 983, “Priests have received from God a power that he has given neither to angels nor to archangels … Were there no forgiveness of sins in the Church, there would be no hope of life to come or eternal liberation.”

    The Eucharist

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the actual body (flesh), blood, and divinity of Jesus Christ is called down from heaven and miraculously transubstantiated into the Eucharistic wafers. The Holy Bible, however, is explicit concerning the return of Jesus Christ to this world.

    The Vatican’s Meddling in Marriage

Because the correct understanding of marriage is essential to life and many Catholics live with deep guilt regarding the Catholic laws on marriage, this video is particularly relevant. The Catholic Church does not recognize civil divorce as valid. Therefore without an annulment Catholics are forbidden from taking the Eucharist, which, after baptism, is the central means by which they stay on right terms with ‘Mother Church’.

    Can a Priest Forgive Sins?

A confessional is a small, enclosed booth used for the Sacrament of Penance, often called confession, or Reconciliation. It is the usual venue for the sacrament in the Roman Catholic Church. In the Catholic Church, confessions are only to be heard in a confessional or oratory, except for a just reason (1983 Code of Canon Law, Canon 964.3)

The Mass as a Sacrifice and The True Meaning of The Lord’s Supper

Christ Jesus suffered as the sacrificial Lamb of God to procure forgiveness of sin and everlasting life for His people. He has legally borne their sins and credited His perfection to them. Christ was the only perfect One that could do so; this is His glory. It shows forth the radiance of the Person of Christ, the wonder Him Who was the substitute for His people. When one sees the Catholic Church proclaim that in the sacrifice of the Catholic Mass Christ is immolated, he ought to be startled.

Life from Sacraments or Life from Christ

Former Roman Catholic Priest Richard Bennett gives a detailed account of the process in which a catholic person is taught how to receive the grace of God by actively participating in physical church sacraments  and how the scripture shows a sharp contrast in true biblical Salvation. Catholics are taught that you earn Gods grace as you participate in sacraments.

    Confession box Encounters

In stark contrast to the clear teaching of the Lord through Scripture, the Catholic is taught to look for forgiveness by confessing his sin not to God through the Lord Jesus Christ, but rather to an intermediary human priest.  This is what devout Catholics practice.  The thought behind the practice requires some explanation.  In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, there are seven sacraments to be explained rather than the two scriptural sacraments of baptism and communion.

    Grace and the Sacraments

Former Roman Catholic Priest Richard Bennet clearly explains how the Roman Catholic Church teaches that the grace  in Salvation is offered through its sacramental system. Thus grace is earned through sacramental participation in the Catholic churches seven sacraments. Truly the exact opposite teaching that is found in scripture and in particular Ephesian 2:8-9. Richard share his personal struggle with this verse as a Catholic priest.
