Patient Endurance Needed for the Coming Great Reset

By Stuart Quint

Here is the patience [patient endurance] of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”[1]

The coming Great Reset will separate the wheat from the tares, the true Christian from the apostate.

This is evident in Pope Francis, who so readily denies God’s Word and discards His commands.  Consider some recent examples (with more to come):

  • Economics[2]
  • Ecumenism[3]
  • Climate change[4]
  • Homosexual civil unions[5]

Those who have observed Francis since his ascent to the papacy in 2013 ought not to be surprised.

The real question is not “How could Pope Francis betray Biblical morality?”  (Neither he nor his church are Christian, nor do they revere God’s Word as supreme and exclusive.)

Rather the question should be: “What could be Pope Francis’s motive?”

Pope Francis loves “betting on the winning horse”.[6]  And the winning horse dwells in Davos, Switzerland.

That horse is the World Economic Forum and their globalist friends.  Their agenda is the “Great Reset”.

Dr. Klaus Schwab, founder and chief of the World Economic Forum, has written books years before the Covid pandemic about the Great Reset.  Here is his simple introduction to what the Great Reset entails:

“It is obvious that we are in the midst of the most severe crisis the world has experienced since World War 2.  75 years ago, countries and people came together to shape the postwar global order, which augured decades of peace, increased global cooperation, and prosperity to hundreds of millions of people around the world.  The Covid crisis has shown us that our old systems are not fit anymore for the 21st century.  It has laid bare the fundamental lack of social cohesion, fairness, inclusion, and equality.

Now is the historical moment, the time, not only to fight the virus but to shape the system for the need for the post-Corona era.  We have a choice.  Do we remain passive, which would lead to the amplification of many of the events we see today: polarization, nationalism, racism, and, ultimately, increased social unrest and conflicts?

We can build a new social contract…

In short, we need a great reset!  We have to mobilize all constituents of our global society to work together.  We must not miss this unique window of opportunity.”[i]

If the global plans of the Great Reset come to fruition, Bible believers will suffer for it.  Christians will require patient endurance to withstand this repressive agenda in the 21st century.

Who Is Pushing the Great Reset?

The World Economic Forum (“WEF”) is today’s expression of the coterie of elites conspiring to bring your family “paradise on earth”.

Their broad extent of their global reach is shown in a recent video, where founder Dr. Klaus Schwab is flanked by heads of the International Monetary Fund (“IMF”), UK royalty, and corporate executives of Mastercard, British Petroleum, and Microsoft.[7]  The Roman Catholic Church heads the ecumenical wing of the WEF in panel discussions and home page articles championing the Great Reset.[8]   Politicians and oligarchs such as George Soros and Bill Gates along with the Vatican, the WEF, and the UN gather for the annual winter conference in Davos.

The emergence (or provocation?) of the Covid crisis has provided further opportunity for the WEF to frighten the nations of the world to submit to the Great Reset:

“At the time of writing (June 2020), the pandemic continues to worsen globally.  Many of us are pondering when things will return to normal.  The short response is: never.[9]

“Radical changes of such consequence are coming that some pundits have referred to a ‘before coronavirus’ (BC) and ‘after coronavirus’ (AC) era.  We will continue to be surprised by both the rapidity and unexpected nature of these changes…  In so doing, they will shape a ‘new normal’ radically different from the one we will be progressively leaving behind.  Many of our beliefs and assumption about what the world could or should look like will be shattered in the process.”[10]

COVID Is a Dark Preview of the Great Reset

The Great Reset is based on progressivism under the rule of technocracy.

Progressivism presupposes man’s growing knowledge and ability to make the world a better place.[11]  The more technological progress, the greater human happiness, prosperity, and fulfillment of our destiny, so it claims.

The world prior to the Flood in Genesis 6 refutes the claims of progressivism.  Technological advancement[12] helped the world become more corrupt and violent: “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.”[13]

Technocracy comes from the Greek roots “techno” meaning “art, craft, skill”[14] and “-cracy” meaning “rule or government by”.[15]  Hence, technocracy posits government not elected by the population nor dictated by the most powerful.  Rather, it presumes technical specialists in fields such as science, economics, administration, and other areas are best suited to make ultimate decisions for populations, be they of one nation or a group of nations.

The Covid pandemic provides a dark preview of technocracy.  Self-proclaimed, unelected scientific “experts” impose their vision of “consensus” on society.  They repress other experts who offer conflicting evidence to their “narrative”.  Governments and corporations submit to these experts.

Consequently, the technocrats have driven many nations in Asia, Australia, and Europe to impose lockdowns on their population, both healthy and vulnerable.  Governing officials defer to the technocracy even if their decisions violate constitutional civil rights and destroy people’s livelihoods.

Jesuit-educated Governor Newsom[16] in California uses “science” as his pretext for banning church worship, home Bible studies, and singing.[17]  (Yet he allows “peaceful protests” of rioters.[18])  He exalts technocratic “science” as supreme law – even though it is a blatant violation of the First Amendment of the federal Constitution.

Members of the wealth oligarchy can also be part of the technocracy.  For instance, consider Bill Gates, one of the world’s richest oligarchs.  He is also a leading advocate for the technocratic consensus narrative on Covid, which captivates the ears of many global rulers.

The Comprehensive Scope of the Great Reset

The WEF is pushing the Great Reset as the great answer to the problems exacerbated by Covid.[19]  They claim that the problems in our world stem from an obsolete political-economic infrastructure called neo-liberalism.[20]

The Great Reset proposes to remedy these injustices with its version of a new world order.

Here are some areas that the Great Reset intends to restructure in our world:

  • Sustainable development” will promote the ascetism of Pope Francis and prioritize the energy needs of “Mother Nature” and the “common good” at the expense of human flourishing. Our previous article on climate change covers these issues in depth.[21]
  • Bio-engineering is a key pillar of the Great Reset. Astounding medical advances, including genetic engineering, designer babies,[22] brain implants,[23] and organ transplants made by 3D printing (perhaps pig tissue),[24] appear to promise healthier and longer lives.

Dr. Klaus Schwab, founder of the WEF, claims that “…ontological inequality will separate those who adapt from those who resist—the material winners and losers in all senses of the words. The winners may even benefit from some form of radical human improvement … (such as genetic engineering) from which the losers will be deprived. This risks creating class conflicts and other clashes unlike anything we have seen before.”[25]

Human pride will proliferate by demanding acceptance and then celebration of transgenderism[26] (seeking to eliminate male and female against God’s created order)[27] and transhumanism[28] (mystical and physical union of man with machine, even to the point of seeking immortality).[29]

  • Economic reform is another instrument of repression against Bible believers. As mentioned earlier, Francis joins the WEF choir in bashing capitalism.[30]  In his Easter 2020 address, the Pope stated, “This may be the time to consider a universal basic wage [income].”[31]

On the surface, universal basic income (“UBI”) appears humane in promising to give everyone on the planet the same starting wage.  However, UBI comes with much negative baggage.  First, it violates God’s Word: “…if any would not work, neither should he eat.”[32]  Second, it would require tremendous printing of extra money, something that hurts middle class workers and savers.  More money chasing the same level of goods produces price inflation, which devalues savings.  Third, implementing a universal (global) basic income opens the door for central bank digital currency (“CBDC”).

Global central banks are already considering launches of their own CBDC.[33] The Bank of China announced its intention to launch its own CBDC in an effort to weaken its dependence on the US Dollar.[34] As with other central banks, the US Federal Reserve sees CBDC as an opportunity to facilitate future UBI payments.  Each citizen would have his/her electronic deposit account direct with the Federal Reserve.  Future payments for UBI or other fiscal handouts would go directly to citizens’ bank accounts.[35]

Eventually, cash would disappear.  Swedes have voluntarily done away with almost all cash payments.[36]  The Indian government abolished most paper money.[37]  US retailers refused to give change during the lockdowns because of a scarcity in coins and paper money.[38]

The biggest problem with digital currency is that governments can easily track everything about your spending habits: who, where, how much, and when you spend money.  This is a powerful weapon for control.

God’s Word reveals the power of economics to compel idol worship of the state: “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”[39]

Social credit scoring in China presents a model for how government can motivate citizen behavior.  (China is exporting its technology to other countries.)  Citizens are monitored and scored on computer algorithms based on good and bad behaviors (such as attending church).  Those with bad behaviors have privileges removed, such as travel, and access to credit.  They can also lose their homes, jobs, or even access to their bank accounts.[40]

  • Inclusion demands more than just your toleration, but your celebration!

The article title “Great Reset: Why LGBT+ inclusion is the secret to cities’ post-pandemic success” says it all.[41]

The WEF Jobs Reset Summit urges social justice due to the “disproportionate health and economic impact on people of colour, women, the poor and the LGBTQI+ community”.[42]

“For example, Vodafone announced last month it is embedding purpose commitments to diversity, inclusion and the environment throughout its supply chain.  For new tenders, suppliers will be asked to demonstrate policies and procedures supporting diversity in the workplace, including gender,[43] ethnicity, LGBT+, age and disability.”[44]

The boundaries of inclusion will expand the categories of egregious sin lumped into these “protected classes”.  Christians should expect to be excluded if they adhere to their faith.[45]

And Pope Francis says, “Who am I to judge?”[46]

What the Bible Says about Other “Great Resets” in History

The Great Reset promises a better life for the people of the world.  Yet, history (even with new faces and technologies) will yet again repeat itself.

Ever since their expulsion from the Garden of Eden, men and women have sought to return to that time of earthly bliss.  Unfortunately, sin’s deceit has lulled them into believing they can rebuild paradise absent God’s permission, power, or presence.  People subjugate themselves to kings who promise to “break their fetters” and act in opposition to Christ.[47]

Rulers like Alexander the Great appealed to the overly used “brotherhood of man”[48] to rope others in to supporting their empires.  His progeny Antiochus Epiphanes sought to push one world society on the people of Israel, which led to much bloodshed, devastation, and his ultimate demise.[49]

In reality, they end up like Nimrod, “the rebel” before God.[50]  He hunted men’s souls to enslave them for his wicked purposes.[51]  When God commanded Noah’s descendants to divide and flourish all over the Earth, Nimrod defied Him.  He sought to subjugate the peoples of the world under his rule.  This culminated in the erection of the Tower of Babel.  When Nimrod sought to unite the people through his arrogant and idolatrous state worship, God divided the people by confusing their languages.

Nimrod sought to control people in his empire of large cities.[52]  Two of them, Nineveh and Babylon, would emerge later in history as heads of similar disastrous efforts to build world empire.

The Bible and later history attest that such efforts to build paradise are vain and end in failure.  Furthermore, these efforts result in an exorbitant loss of resources and casualties.  Believers in Christ end up “getting the short end of the stick” as their allegiance to the true King of Heaven is not welcome in tyrannical efforts to erect global “sisterhood and brotherhood”.

Today’s Great Reset is really “no new thing new under the sun[53] in God’s economy.  It will come – and it will fail.

Conclusion: Get Ready to Suffer Short Term Pain for Eternal Gain

The apostle John addresses believers in Revelation as a fellow partaker in “patient endurance.”[54]

“Patient endurance” is repeated 7 more times in John’s Revelation.  The word in the original language literally means “to abide under”.[55]  One writer explains it as “an active abiding under the trial with faith in God as one’s base.”[56]

This is a sobering exhortation.  Consider how many similar situations exist in Scripture, history, and even today.  Until He returns, God continues to allow for seasons and contexts when His saints will suffer.  Such seasons will require “patient endurance”.

Here are but a selected few aspects of “patient endurance”:

  • Trust God to lead you and the church to whatever season He has ordained for you.[57]
  • It could get quite difficult and costly, even to the point of physical loss and harm.[58]
  • You might feel isolated, as many professing believers will sell out to the world system.
  • Christ has not left you alone; seek out His help and comfort.[59]
  • Store your treasure in Heaven[60], not this world, which is passing away.[61]
  • Christ wins in the end. Your light momentary affliction is preparing for you an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.[62]

Let us make sure that Christ truly is our Lord.  Put away idols and false doctrine.  Repent, for the time is short.  Seek the Lord through prayer and in His Word while He might be found.

Only then can we rejoice like the prophet Habakkuk, in spite of a terrible near-term future of God’s judgment on Israel with the wicked Babylon, that we too can say, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.[63]
